BRAND FOUNDER ACADEMY FREE TOOLS · THE SUPPLIER SCORECARD

The Supplier Scorecard.

Every maker looks great on their own website. Score every one on the same 6 things, set your bar, and let the two filters cut the ones you cannot work with.

Blank means unknown. Do not guess a score. If you do not know a thing about a maker, leave it blank and it becomes a question you ask them. The Supplier Scout prompt does this same scoring inside your chat; this page is for doing it by hand, or on a phone.

Your two filters from your cost sheet

Any maker whose minimum order is above this is cut. That is a filter, not a failure.

Your candidates score each one 1 to 5 on the same 6 things. Unknown stays blank.

How to score

Minimum order. 5 = their minimum is well under what you can pay for. 1 = it is above it (and the tool cuts them anyway).
Lead time. 5 = weeks. 1 = months past what you can wait.
Certifications. 5 = they list the standard ones for your category and you checked them. 1 = nothing listed.
How they answer. 5 = replied within a day and answered every question. 1 = a week or more, or dodged half of it.
Are they real. 5 = reviews, years in business, a real address, someone you can name. 1 = a website and nothing else.
Sample. 5 = yes, before you order. 1 = no.

Blank means unknown. Never fill a gap with a 3. An unknown is a question you still have to ask. The Vendor Vault has a 20-check version of this for your top 3 before you send anyone a deposit.
This is one lesson inside the Launch Accelerator. We find the makers with you, send the quote requests, compare what comes back, and get a sample in your hands.
